Homeschool families meet together in communities throughout BC for the purpose of sharing ideas, encouraging each other and offering social opportunities. Support groups listed on our website have agreed to give contact names and information in order to answer questions to those families locally interested in homeschooling. Support groups operate independently from the BC Home School Association. BCHSA assists homeschool support groups by providing information to the public regarding homeschooling and by listing local group contacts, as well as by providing information to support groups about BCHSA, the annual convention, and other events or news items of interest.

We strongly encourage support groups to have a value statement, statement of faith, or mission statement that clearly defines their individual support group's objectives and purpose. If the local group does not have a clear statement outlining membership requirements, then the group contact person may want to contact BCHSA for recommendations and referrals to others who have established group policies.
